West Ham lead the race for Wilshere following social media hint
Arsenal ace on the move?
West Ham United have emerged as the clear favourites to sign Jack Wilshere following a cryptic post on the star’s Instagram account.
The 26-year-old relayed a message which said, “There comes a time when you have to choose between turning the page and closing the book”, leading to suggestions that the midfielder’s time at Arsenal is up.
With his future at the Emirates uncertain, the Hammers have been installed as the 5/2 favourites to sign the Gunners ace.
They lead a trio of Premier League clubs who are all reportedly interested in the out-of-contract star.
Marco Silva and Everton are considered Wilshere’s next most likely destination at 7/1, ahead of top-flight newbies Wolverhampton Wanderers at 8/1.
Both clubs have the financial muscle to afford the midfielder. But it could come down to whether he wants to remain in London. If he does, then it’s the Irons who hold the upper hand.
The Coral traders make Paris Saint-Germain and AS Roma his two most likely international destinations at 20/1 apiece.
“We’ve seen Joe Cole and Joe Hart amongst others try and revive their England careers abroad but with limited success and Wilshere seems to be set to remain in the Premier League,” added Aitkenhead.
5-2 West Ham, 7-1 Everton, 8-1 Wolves, 20-1 PSG, 20-1 Roma, 25-1 Chelsea, 25-1 AC Milan, 33-1 Newcastle
