Cape of Good Hope earns 40/1 Classic quote after Trial win
Latest odds and betting for the Investec Derby
Following his victory at this afternoon’s Derby Trial at Epsom, Cape Of Good Hope has been added to the betting for the Investec Derby by our traders, landing as a 40/1 long-shot.
The colt’s win came by half a length from Cap Francais in the 2:45 at Epsom, who pressed towards the end but the horse ridden by Ryan Moore held on to take the victory.
“Cape Of Good Hope’s connections have shorter priced Derby contenders, but having won around the unique Epsom course, he deserves his place in the Classic betting,” said Coral’s David Stevens.
Cape Of Good Hope’s stablemates Ten Sovereigns and Magna Grecia head Coral’s betting for the Qipco 2,000 Guineas at 3/1 and 11/2 respectively, following the latest entry stage for the Newmarket Group One.
“Andre Fabre has ended the speculation over Persian King’s participation at Newmarket next weekend by removing him from the 2,000 Guineas, leaving the Ballydoyle duo clear at the head of the market,” said Coral’s David Stevens.
