Jim Crowley: “Gantier is a really nice ride to pick up – he has Frankel pedigree.”
Exclusive insight from our racing ambassador
I’m flying up to Newcastle on Good Friday to ride a couple of really nice horses and it’s a day that I’m looking forward to after what will of been three days at Newmarket.
It’s a very busy time but I absolutely love it and hopefully I can continue in a good vein of form.
Friday – Newcastle
Daarik is a lovely horse and will likely go off favourite to win this race. I’ve won on him before at the track that was a very impressive performance and he has everything in his favour to go very close again in this race.
This will be my first time riding Big Kitten and whilst I will learn a lot about him on the day I have been booked for the ride for a long time now and the connections think very highly of the horse.
He is another who won at Newcastle last year and it always gives you confidence when the horse has winning course form.
This is a really nice ride to pick up on a horse that has outstanding pedigree, out of Frankel. He will be going up here to win the race and I’m hopeful that he can stay out the trip to be right there at the finish.
Justice Lady is a horse that I rode back in 2017 at Ascot and whilst she hasn’t won since that year she is definitely back to a winnable mark now.
Hopefully this will be the time that she get back to winning form and she certainly has a chance on her current mark.
