Coral ambassador discusses his Saturday rides at Sandown and Chelmsford 2.25 Sandown – Mutaabeq He has come from Dermot Weld’s yard in Ireland and he is a lightly-raced. He ran first time out at Sandown where he was very green and little too fresh. He was much better on his second start of the campaign at Bath where he finished second. The horse which beat him has come out since and has been beate... more...

Coral ambassador discusses his Saturday rides at Ebor I ride in two races today, including the Ebor, which I was lucky enough to win last year on Muntahaa. It is a fantastic race, a really competitive one with great prize money on offer and I am really looking forward to it again this weekend. Fingers crossed I can win it again! 15:00 – Eqtidaar Eqtidaar won the Commonwealth Cup in 2018 at A... more...

Jim Crowley: “I’m confident Battaash will run another great race”

Coral ambassador discusses his Friday rides at Ebor Elarqam ran a big race in the Juddmonte International on Wednesday and I thought we were actually unlucky not to be a lot closer at the finish. We just got caught flat-footed at a vital point, about three furlongs out, and at that point I didn’t think I’d be in the first five home. The way we finished was absolutely fantastic and I re... more...

Jim Crowley: “Elarqam is really fulfilling his potential now”

Coral ambassador previews his Wednesday and Thursday rides at Ebor Wednesday  15:35  York must be delighted with the superstar horses that will be running here this week, but credit to the track, they put up proper prize money and have got their rewards this week. It’s certainly one of the highlights of the season for me, and I’ve been lucky here in recent years, winning the Juddmonte ... more...

Coral ambassador previews his rides at Doncaster 13.10 Doncaster I had a few options earlier this week as to where I might have ridden this Saturday, with Newbury and Newmarket alternatives, but as things have panned out, I’m off to Doncaster where I can hopefully bang in a winner or two! I start the day on a nice-looking spare ride in Strong Steps. Formerly with Hugo Palmer and Roger Fell, ... more...

Jim Crowley “She ticks all the boxes and I think she’ll win”

Goodwood Review – Battaash, Enbihaar and Khaadem Battaash was brilliant. He ran a faster time this year than last year, and whilst he wasn’t as visually impressive this year, it was because we went quicker over the first couple of furlongs which meant that last furlong wasn’t his best. I didn’t have to use the stick on him and I was trying to save a little bit in the tank for York. He was very wel... more...

Jim Crowley: “Everything’s on course for a big run from Enbihaar”

Coral ambassador previews his rides for the final day at Glorious Goodwood 13.50 Tinto I’ve got some of my best rides of the week on Saturday and hopefully it will be a great end to the five days racing at Goodwood. I begin with Tinto in the first, who also ran on Thursday here. He ran a nice race over five furlongs and really got going late on. He is equally effective running over six furlongs an... more...

Jim Crowley: “Goodwood should bring out Battaash’s best again”

Coral ambassador previews his Friday rides at Glorious Goodwood 13.50 Rocques Rocques is a lovely French horse with some very good two-year-old form, winning all her first three starts, but she just hasn’t been able to build on it since. There are some very good horses in here. You have a Guineas winner in Billesdon Brook and also the very talented Jubiloso, who I think is the one to beat in the r... more...

Jim Crowley: “Maqsad goes into this race in great shape”

| 31.07.2019

Coral ambassador previews Thursday’s rides at Glorious Goodwood 15.35 Maqsad Maqsad ran a super race in the Oaks at Epsom at the end of May but just didn’t quite get home and ended up finishing further back than she probably deserved. Although down the field she just didn’t quite get the trip. Her form in the previous two runs at Newmarket was excellent with wins over shorter trips and moving back... more...

Jim Crowley “La Maquina will run very well”

WEDNESDAY GOODWOOD RIDES Sussex Stakes I don’t think the Prix Jean Prat that Too Darn Hot won was a strong race. The horse I like in the race is Lord Glitters who won the Queen Anne at Royal Ascot. I don’t think the three year olds are a great bunch. I would probably have Circus Maximus over Too Darn Hot. 5.20 Qatar International Stakes – Muraaqib I won this race on Muraaqib last year and he shoul... more...
