Joe Tizzard: “Ambion Hill has a lovely each-way chance”
Coral ambassador discusses the Tizzard yard’s Friday runners
13.30 Ascot – Amarillo Sky
Amarillo Sky is a horse we’ve paid a lot of money for and we weren’t too disappointed with his first run at Newbury. They hacked around there, and he ended up having to make his own running which for a four-year-old was not ideal. It turned into a complete sprint and he was still bang there.
This looks the obvious next step. A stiff two around Ascot on much slower ground. We are looking forward to getting another run into him. It’s a competitive little race and we’ll see where we are with him.
15.45 Ascot – My Lady Grey
She’s been so consistent all season. She’s won a couple. She’s proved in the past that she doesn’t mind a little cut in the ground. Perhaps the handicapper has quietly got hold of her, but this looks the right race, right trip and she’s entitled to be there or thereabouts.
14.50 Chepstow – Faustinovick
He’s threatened to be quite competitive a few times in the past, but he’s flattered to deceive a bit and hasn’t been finishing his races. So we are dropping him right back to two miles on a big galloping track, and we are certainly in the right race. He just doesn’t find a lot off the bridle so I’d like to see him finish his race a bit stronger.
16.00 Chepstow – Ambion Hill
He’s a big chase in the making, a lovely big horse. He’s had a couple of runs. His first run he was really keen and never got home, and his last run was much better. He stayed on nicely. His best form was around Chepstow last year. It’s the right race and I think he has a lovely each-way chance.
