A £5 stake could see a return of over £180
The international fixtures are rounded up this evening as club action returns this weekend.
There’s also some action from Scotland. It’s been a terrific week of World Cup warm-ups overall.
The Coral News Team select a four-fold of sides with a good chance of winning.
USA – 5/4
A rebuilding job is underway in US soccer as the USMNT failed to make this summer’s World Cup. Interim head coach Dave Strachan has picked a squad with an average age of just 24-years-old. They’ll be excited and eager to please.
Paraguay are in the same boat. But they’ve stuck with the majority of the old regulars. That could be their downfall here. They’ve also lost nine of their last 11 away friendlies.
Mexico – 4/5
World Cup finalists clash at the AT&T stadium in America as Mexico meet Croatia. The Croats have left behind six major stars in Luka Modric, Mario Mandzukic, Ivan Perisic, Marcelo Brozovic, Nikola Kalinic and Danijel Subasic.
They were also humbled by more South American opposition in their previous game, losing 2-0 to Peru. Mexico have a good recent record against the Europeans and will have more experience of playing in these conditions.
Peru – 21/20
There’s a similar match-up at the Red Bull Arena as Iceland take on Croatian conquerors, Peru.
Iceland were beaten 3-0 by Mexico in the previous friendly and struggled badly without Gylfi Sigurdsson.
Peru were highly impressive dismantling Croatia with just 10 men. Iceland should hold no fear for them in the American heat.
Hamilton Academicals – 7/2
St. Johnstone clash with Hamilton at McDiarmid Park in a re-arranged Scottish Premiership fixture.
Saints are not in the best of form in the last number of months, especially at home. In fact, Tommy Wright’s side have won just once in their last 11 games on home turf.
Hamilton are in slightly better form, winning three of their last eight league games. That includes two wins and a draw from their previous three fixtures.
