Pep Guardiola’s side favourites to sign Napoli defender

After signing Nathan Ake, Manchester City could yet add more defensive reinforcements to their squad after being cut to 5/4 favourites to sign Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly.

The Senegalese centre-back has been linked with a move to the Premier League for several years, and Pep Guardiola’s side could make the 29-year-old’s dream move a reality during this summer transfer window.

The Cityzens may not be Koulibaly’s only option, with city rivals Manchester United 5/2 second favourites to secure his signature.

Elsewhere, Premier League champions Liverpool could yet add Koulibaly to their ranks as 9/2 third favourites, with a move to Paris Saint-Germain at 15/2.

Coral’s John Hill said: “Kalidou Koulibaly has been linked with a number of Premier League clubs this summer but our betting clearly suggests it is Manchester City who are leading the race to sign the Napoli defender.”

Chelsea have also been linked with Koulibaly but appear to have shifted their attention to West Ham United’s Declan Rice, who is now odds-on at 4/6 to secure a summer switch to Stamford Bridge.

“Declan Rice is now odds-on to switch London clubs from West Ham to Chelsea,” added Hill.
