League One & Two play-offs: When are they happening and who is playing?

| 18.06.2020

Latest odds ahead of the third and fourth-tier play-offs

With both League One and Two choosing to end their seasons, the play-off places have now been decided.

Here’s everything you need to know about the crucial end of season ties that lie ahead.

League One

Who is in the play-offs?

With Wycombe Wanderers and Oxford United placing third and fourth after the points per game system came into play, they get the advantage of playing at home in the second leg.

Wycombe, who edged out Peterborough United, were not even in a play-off position when the regular season halted. They’ve moved up from eighth to third, thanks to their game in hand and a high predicted points per game.

All of the semi-finals are to be played across two legs.

Friday 3rd July

Portsmouth v Oxford (17:30)

Fleetwood Town v Wycombe (19:30)

Monday 6th July

Oxford v Portsmouth (17:00)

Wycombe v Fleetwood (19:30)

The League One play-off final will take place at Wembley on Monday 13th July.

Portsmouth are favourites to win at Fratton Park at 23/20, with the draw at 11/5 and an Oxford win at 12/5.

Fleetwood are first-leg favourites to win at 23/20 with the draw at 21/10 and a Wycombe win at 5/2.

The outright play-off winner market has Portsmouth at 15/8, Fleetwood at 12/5, Oxford United at 13/5 and Wycombe at 9/2.

League Two

Who is in the play-offs?

Unlike League One, there was no real controversy in deciding who made the League Two play-offs, with the four teams already in third to sixth making the cut after points per game had been implemented. That means Colchester United, Exeter City, Northampton Town and Cheltenham Town are the four participants.

All of the semi-finals are played across two legs.

Thursday 18th June

Colchester v Exeter (17.15)

Northampton v Cheltenham (19:45)

Monday 22nd June

Exeter v Colchester (17:15)

Cheltenham v Northampton (20:00)

The League Two play-off final will take place at Wembley on Monday 29th June.

Colchester are 31/20 favourites to win at home, with the draw at 2/1 and an Exeter win at 19/10.

Northampton are 31/20 favourites in the home leg, with the draw at 21/10 and a Cheltenham win at 2/1.

In the outright markets, things are tight, with Exeter the 9/4 favourites to win the play-offs, followed by Cheltenham at 5/2, Colchester at 11/4 and Northampton at 3/1.
