Chelsea travel to Hull hoping to extend gap at Premier League summit

Jose Mourinho can be confident that his side will do the business on Humberside, as the Blues, odds-on at 2/5 with Coral to beat Hull City, haven’t lost against the Tigers in the Premier League, winning five times and drawing twice.

Chelsea endured a frustrating draw at Stamford Bridge last time out, as a Dusan Tadic penalty meant Southampton went away with a point, cancelling out a Diego Costa opener. Although the Blues gave it both barrels, for the rest of the match, they just couldn’t seem to find away past a stubborn defence and quality goalkeeper.

At the KC Stadium, they will be hoping for an easier task, however Steve Bruce’s side have lost just one of their last six matches in the Premier League, a run inspired, perhaps, by holding Manchester City to a draw at the Etihad.

The west London outfit won the reverse fixture earlier in the campaign 2-0 with Costa and Eden Hazard getting on the scoresheet. They are 10/3 and 6/1 respectively to break the deadlock. Mourinho may see this match as an opportunity to start with January signing Juan Cuadrado, who has plenty of potential, and is decent value at 2/1 to find the net anytime.

Captain John Terry will be hoping to mark his 450th game for the club with a clean sheet and no doubt a goal if the opportunity presents itself. He is 7/1 to net anytime and add to his tally of six for the campaign in all competitions.

Despite the host’s good run, their last three matches have been a defeat and two draws, with goals seeming to be in short supply of late. New January signing Dame N’Doye, appears to have been a real coup by Bruce, having scored three goals since his arrival, including in the team’s last home match against Sunderland.

He is 7/2 to find the net anytime, while Abel Hernandez (7/2) and Sone Aluko (5/1), represent other possible scoring hopes.
