Preview and odds for the Goodison Park clash

Everton’s home form went from bad to worse when they lost 1-0 to Sheffield United on Sunday and they will hope the return of supporters helps them at least sign off with a win when Wolves are the visitors.

The Toffees start the penultimate round of Premier League fixtures in eighth place but have suffered nine defeats on home soil compared to just three on their travels.

Wolves are also looking to bounce back from a defeat after losing 2-0 at Tottenham last time out but they have won three of their last six games.

Wednesday’s match is live on Sky Sports and kicks off at 6.00pm as we highlight a few potential Everton v Wolves betting tips.

Everton v Wolves match odds

Everton have managed only five wins at Goodison Park this season and it highlights how good their away form has been that they still have an outside chance of qualifying for Europe heading into the final two matches of the campaign.

Carlo Ancelotti’s men have failed to win any of their last five games here despite a favourable run of fixtures which has included defeats against Burnley, Aston Villa and relegated Sheffield United.

Despite that, the Blues have been priced up as 10/11 favourites while Wolves are 17/5 to be the latest team to leave with all three points and 19/20 to avoid defeat.

Everton have only managed two clean sheets at home too – the second-worst record behind Newcastle – so both teams to score may appeal at 10/11.

Everton v Wolves head-to-head

Conor Coady, Wolves

Fans fortunate enough to be back in the ground will hope to see plenty of goals and recent history suggests they should be in luck.

Over 2.5 goals has paid out in all five meetings since Wolves returned to the Premier League in 2018 and odds of 21/20 are on offer for that trend to continue.

There have been two wins apiece in those five games, the most recent of which was in January when Everton won 2-1 at Molineux.

Michael Keane grabbed the 77th-minute winner after Alex Iwobi’s early opener was quickly cancelled out by Ruben Neves.

Wolves: Patricio, Hoever, Coady, Semedo, Dendoncker, Gibbs-White, Vitinha, Saiss, Moutinho, Silva, Traore.

Team news

Everton have Yerry Mina and Josh King back available but midfielder Jean-Philippe Gbamin (knee) remains sidelined.

Wolves striker Raul Jimenez is unlikely to make the trip even if he is given clearance to make a playing comeback from a fractured skull. Daniel Podence had groin surgery on Monday and it is hoped the winger will be fit for the start of next season.

Key battles

Dominic Calvert-Lewin will be keen to enhance his claims for a place at Euro 2020 by adding to his 16-goal tally. The Everton striker is evens to be on target and the 13/5 favourite to open the scoring.

He will be up against recent England team-mate Conor Coady, who will be keen to shine on his return to Merseyside having risen through the youth ranks at Liverpool.
