Gareth Southgate’s latest 23-man squad will also face Belgium, who top the world rankings, as well as Denmark.
The Three Lions will be looking improve on their third-place finish in the inaugural Nations League, with Southgate pinning his hopes on a youthful side.
England have taken on Iceland three times, with their first meeting a 1-1 draw in June 1982, followed by a 6-1 thrashing in 2004 thanks to goals from Frank Lampard, Wayne Rooney, Darius Vassell and Wayne Bridge.
Last time the two International sides met, Iceland produced a shock 2-1 win at the Allianz Riviera in Nice, knocking England out in the Round of 16 at Euro 2016.
