Our guide to this week’s sporting fixtures

There’s another week jam-packed with the finest sport around during the festive period, with a whole bunch of top-quality fixtures to enjoy.

With so much sport on our plate, we’ve picked out this week’s highlights, so you know what’s on and when.

Football

The weekend’s Premier League fixture list comes to a close with a South Coast derby on Monday Night Football as Brighton host Southampton.

We’re then treated to more Champions League action with the final round of group stage matches, including fate-deciding ties with RB Leipzig v Manchester United on Tuesday, before Real Madrid v Borussia Monchengladbach on Wednesday.

Premier League football will then return to take centre-stage on Friday night with Leeds United v West Ham United, before the Manchester Derby on Saturday as United host City at Old Trafford. There’s a full fixture list across the Football League and Europe too.

Horse Racing

We’ve got more racing to look forward to this week, starting with cards at Musselburgh, Plumpton, Chelmsford and Wolverhampton today, with plenty of racing from across the globe too.

On Friday and Saturday, it’s The International at Cheltenham, while Doncaster hosts a pair of Grade 2 races including the December Novices’ Chase on Saturday.

Snooker

Ronnie O'Sullivan Sport

The Scottish Open runs throughout the week, with some of snooker’s top named vying for the Stephen Hendry Trophy in Milton Keynes from today.

Judd Trump is the 10/3 favourite to add the trophy to his collection, while Ronnie O’Sullivan is the 4/1 second favourite.

Boxing

The WBF (Super), IBF, WBO and ICO heavyweight titles are all on the line as Anthony Joshua takes on Kubrat Pulev at Wembley Arena on Saturday night. Can he defend his titles?

Souleymane Cissokho returns to the ring for the first time in 14 months to take on Kieron Conway on the undercard for a super-welterweight clash.

NFL

Ben Roethlisberger Sport

With the league’s last unbeaten record on the line, Pittsburgh Steelers host Washington Football Team in Monday Night Football, with a win enough to secure a spot in the playoffs for the Steelers.

There’s action in the early hours of Tuesday morning with San Francisco 49ers v Buffalo Bills, before Baltimore Ravens v Dallas Cowboys on Wednesday.

We’ll have a further 13 matches on Sunday night too, including Miami Dolphins v Kansas City Chiefs.

Cricket

Australia take on India in the third match of their T20 series on Wednesday, with India already securing the series win with a 2-0 lead. They’re 4/5 to secure a 3-0 series win.

New Zealand are looking to sweep West Indies in their two-match series, winning the first Test Match by an innings and 134 runs.

F1

The curtain-call of the 2020 Formula 1 season takes place at the Yas Marina Circuit with the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. After Lewis Hamilton already sealed his seventh World Championship, could another surprise winner follow in Sergio Perez’s footsteps?

Golf

Patrick Reed Sport

The season-ending DP World Tour Championship takes place in Dubai from Thursday to Sunday, with the Race to Dubai set for a thrilling climax.

Patrick Reed will return hoping to become the first American to be crowned European Tour number one in the fourth Rolex Series event of the 2020 season.

Darts

There’s more action from the PDC Home Tour 3 with Group 15 in action today, including the likes of Kim Huybrechts and James Wilson.

Group 16 gets underway tomorrow, with John Henderson and Stephen Bunting the headliners.
