Ebor Festival Day Two Betting Tips: Can Love be stopped in Yorkshire Oaks?

Preview ahead of Thursday’s action at York

The York Ebor Festival continues on Thursday with another thrilling day of racing to look forward to.

There are seven races to get stuck into, with the Yorkshire Oaks the pick of the bunch as five rivals look to stop runaway favourite Love.

And ahead of the action, we’ve picked out the key runners and riders to keep an eye on.

13:45 Lowther Stakes (Group 2)

14:15 Premier Yearling Stakes

14:45 Heritage Handicap

15:15 Yorkshire Oaks (Group 1)

15:45 British EBF & Sir Henry Cecil Galtres Stakes (Listed)

16:20 EBF Stallions Nursery

16:50 British Stallion Studs EBF Fillies’ Handicap

York 13:45

After winning on debut at Newmarket, Sacred could be the one to beat here. She impressed again when second in the Queen Mary at Royal Ascot and will favour the step up to 6f.

Santosha will be looking for a third win in just four outings, with her most recent coming at Ascot last month, finishing ahead of rival Hala Hala Hala.

Umm Kulthum will also be looking to build on a winning start at Thirsk in July.

York 15:15

All eyes will be on Love as Ryan Moore’s ride heads the betting as the heavy favourite. She’s enjoyed a remarkable year so far, storming to victory in both the 1,000 Guineas at Newmarket and the Oaks at Epsom. She should continue her form here as she prepares for the Arc in October.

Five horses look set to battle Love, with Franconia the likeliest contender. She won well in a Listed event at Newbury and is stepping up in distance here.

Elsewhere, One Voice secured a close second in the Nassau Stakes at Goodwood, while Frankly Darling will have to improve after finishing almost 10 lengths behind Love in the Oaks.

York 15:45

It could be a big afternoon for Ryan Moore, who takes charge of Vivionn this time. She came second in this race last year and secured a strong third on her return at Haydock last time out.

Albaflora could be one to watch after winning on debut at Haydock in June. Rossa Ryan’s ride followed that up with a second-place finish at York last time out.

Another horse that could challenge is Sea The Stars filly Sea of Faith. She showed good endurance to finish last season with a strong showing at Salisbury.
