Horse Racing Trader’s Tips: Fonner Park – Tuesday 14th April

CORAL ENHANCED ACCAS

Our trader Johnathan Priddey previews tonight’s action Stateside

We’ve got two race meetings to look forward to this evening, with Will Rogers Downs hosting a 10-race card, but our focus is on the meeting at Fonner Park.

The Nebraska racecourse hosts a nine-race card which gets underway at 22:00, and our trader gives us his picks ahead of the action…

Top Jockey

Veteran rider Armando Martinez may still be the leading jockey from this Spring Meeting, but the emergence of a young jockey was last week’s big story.

Oklahoma native Dakota Wood rode home to win five consecutive races at prices of 13/8, 9/4, 20/1, EVS & 9/1.

Local trainers Marissa Black, Mark Hibdon and Stenson Mitchell have all supported Wood’s journey, becoming a rising force at the Fonner Park course. He’s got another solid book of eight rides this evening.

Booked Rides

Straight off the bat, Wood’s mounts the forecast favourite in his first of the evening, riding Flashin The Cash in the 22:00. The four-year-old filly has a great opportunity to break Wood’s maiden.

His race card could be bookended with a pair of winners, as he rides Bandwidth in the 01:36. The seven-year-old gelding made a perfectly respectable Fonner Park debut when second in an allowance event two weeks prior on his first start under Ronnie Riggs.

With a hot jockey aboard and only a slight improvement required, this pair should be in the mix in the last.

Dakota Wood booked rides: Flashin The Cash (22:00), Shade Of Justice (22:54), Color Me Behold (23:21), Spoon Boss (23:48), Unshackled Cross (00:15), Mallory’s Bandit (00:42), Dixie Flyer (01:09), Bandwidth (01:36).
