Horse Racing Trader’s Tips: Gulfstream Park Preview – Thursday 2nd April
Senior Trader Ian Rozzier looks ahead to the start of the Spring Meet, live on Sky Sports Racing
With Irad Ortiz Jr on the sidelines, Luis Saez is the man to beat here. He looked superb last weekend, as he came desperately close to securing the Gulfstream Park Championship Meet Jockeys Championship, before eventually losing 115-113 to Ortiz Jr.
Luis Saez rides: Speedy Hans (18.00), Markistan (18.30), Cat Lady (19.31), Hartling (20.34), Etana (21.05), Awsum Roar (21.36) & Limetini (22.07)
With 48 winners from 210 starts, Todd Pletcher clinched his 16th Gulfstream Park Championship Meet Trainers Championship last weekend.
He has three runners here to start the Spring Meet, with Luis Saez in the saddle for two of them.
Todd Pletcher runners: Cat Lady (19.31), Assume (21.05) & Limetini (22.07)
Horse to Watch
After winning her last four races, Hartling now has a strong claim to extend that streak to five.
She switches back to turf here, but that shouldn’t pose a problem for Michael Pino’s filly after her winning display in January.
Booking Luis Saez could be the key, especially as he could have ridden Day’s Of Spring.
