Horse Racing Trader’s Tips: Gulfstream Park – Thursday 9th April

Preview for Wednesday’s Stateside racing

There’s a ten-race card at Gulfstream Park on Thursday and our trader Ian Rozzier has his say on the day’s action…

Leading Jockey

Tyler Gaffalione is the man to watch coming into this with seven winners from just 16 rides at the Spring Meet.

He’ll be looking to extend his lead at the summit of the jockey’s championship, with a strong book of rides across the evening.

Tyler Gaffalione rides: Dizzy Sight (18.30), Mayito (19.00), Reiterate (19.31), More Than Usual (20:03), Quiet Company (20:34), Frank First/Holy Muchacho (21:05), Volubile (21:36), Blewit (22:07) & Mighty Road/Primacy (22:38)

Leading Trainer

Kenneth McPeek has seen winners left, right and centre in recent weeks, with three winners from six at the Spring Meet, including two last Thursday.

He’ll hope that his two runners today can add to that tally and keep his excellent run of form going.

Kenneth McPeek runners: Holy Muchacho (21:05) & Indian Counselor (22:07)

Horse To Watch

Moretti in the 22:07 is our pick of today’s horses, with Luis Saez and Todd Pletcher finding a series of winners so far this year.

While Moretti is still looking for a second career victory, the son of Medaglla d’Oro was highly fancied as a two-year-old, costing connections $900k – and they’ll see this as the perfect opportunity to pick up that win.
