Horse Racing Trader’s Tips: Royal Randwick – Saturday 11th April

Preview for the key racing action Down Under

Royal Randwick Racecourse stages the feature meeting of the Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival.

Their 10-race card features four Group 1 contests and starts at 02:35 live on Sky Sports Racing.

Leading Jockey

Tom Marquand has been a revelation since landing in Australia and he has another fantastic book of rides including the William Haggas trained Addeybb and Young Rascal.

He has ridden 19 winners from 97 rides down under including his first Group 1 victory on Addeybb in the Ravnet Stakes at Rosehill last month.

Tom Marquand rides: Azaly (02:35), Indy Car (03:10), Animate (03:45), Muntaseera (04:20), Young Rascal (06:15), Addeybb (06:55), Miss Siska (07:35), Grey Shadow (08:10)

Leading Trainer

Champion trainer Chris Waller has no less than 13 runners on the card but all eyes will be on the William Haggas duo of Addeybb and Young Rascal.

Haggas is no stranger to Group 1 success domestically but this is a rare international venture. Both horses won their trials and with heavy rain forecast they should be very tough to beat.

William Haggas trained runners: Young Rascal (06:15), Addeybb (06:55)

Horses To Watch

As well as the aforementioned Haggas duo there’s plenty of runners that will be familiar to domestic viewers.

None more so than last year’s Ebor winner Mustajeer who is now trained by Kris Lees and ran a lovely race in the Group 1 Kia Tancred Stakes 2 weeks ago.

Ex UK & Ireland runners: Mustajeer, Raheen House, Saunter Boy and Corncake (06:15), Kings Will Dream, Imaging, Master Of Wine and Life Less Ordinary (06:55)
