WBC Heavyweight world champion the 8/11 favourite
The undefeated WBC Heavyweight champion of the world Tyson Fury is the odds-on 8/11 favourite to win this year’s Sports Personality of the Year.
The 31-year-old ‘Gypsy King’ produced a stunning seventh-round TKO in his rematch with Deontay Wilder in February making Fury the first man to defeat two champions who had 10 or more defences of their world championships.
Joe Wicks is now a surprise contender to win the award after his P.E. classes on YouTube over the last two months, with the fitness coach now the 6/1 second favourite.
Coral’s Harry Aitkenhead said: “Tyson’s win over Deontay Wilder back in February is the stand-out moment of the sporting year by far, and he’s a worthy favourite for the award regardless of the other sport which has been postponed. We make him odds-on to win SPOTY 2020.”
“Joe Wicks has been the most active sports person of the last two months, so we can’t rule him out of a surprise award win and make him the 6/1 second favourite,” added Aitkenhead.
Elsewhere, Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson comes in as the third favourite at 8/1 to claim the award after his role in the Red’s sensational Premier League campaign.
Six-time Formula One world champion Lewis Hamilton is a 10/1 shot.
8/11 Tyson Fury, 6/1 Joe Wicks, 8/1 Jordan Henderson, 10/1 Lewis Hamilton, 16/1 Anthony Joshua, 20/1 Ronnie O’Sullivan, 25/1 Judd Trump, 33/1 Fallon Sherrock
