Darts Trader’s Tips: PDC Home Tour – Friday 24th April
Our expert Michael McDonald previews today’s matches
It’s Day Eight of the PDC Home Tour, which welcomes Jonny Clayton, Adam Hunt, Richard North and David Pallett.
Clayton is the highest-ranked player competing tonight. He began the 2020 season by defeating Michael van Gerwen 10-6 in the first round of the 2020 Ladbrokes Masters. He’s 11/10 favourite to be crowned tonight’s winner in the outright market.
Jonny Clayton v Adam Hunt (19:30)
The first match of the evening sees Jonny Clayton face Adam Hunt, with Clayton clear favourite after his success against world number one MVG at the start of the year.
Clayton’s superb start to the 2020 season also saw him reach the semi-finals of the UK Open. He’s 1/2 for the match, with Hunt at 6/4 for the match.
Clayton should have too much for the outsider – he’s an even money shot to win -1.5 legs in the match handicap market.
Richard North v Adam Hunt (21:10)
Hunt and North have previously met twice in ranking matches, with Hunt getting the win ob both occasions.
The Hunter is an 8/11 shot to beat North (evens) and complete the hat-trick. This should be a very tight match though, and Hunt is 4/1 to edge out North 5-4 in the correct score market.
Jonny Clayton v Richard North (20:45)
Clayton is the odds-on favourite here at 4/9 to beat North (13/8). Ranked 15th in the PDC Order of Merit, Clayton is by far the superior player and his pre-lockdown results speak for themselves.
The Welshman is also a 5/2 shot in our special King of the Oche market, which required him to win the match, hit the most 180’s and the highest checkout.
