The Formula One star has also been tipped to be knighted

Lewis Hamilton is odds-on to be crowned this year’s BBC Sports Personality of the Year.

The 35-year-old won his seventh World Championship earlier this month to draw level with Michael Schumacher’s record.

And Hamilton has been priced at 4/7 to be rewarded for his achievements by winning Sports Personality of the Year for the second time.

The Mercedes driver can also be backed at Evens to be knighted in the Queen’s New Year Honours List.

“Lewis Hamilton has reached heights very few other English sports stars have hit and we now make him the odds-on favourite to be recognised with the 2020 Sports Personality of the Year award,” said Coral’s Harry Aitkenhead.

“Sir Andy Murray has become the latest to say Lewis deserves a knighthood and we make it even money that it does become Sir Lewis Hamilton in the New Year.”
